If you are not eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination, Medwin Pharmacy offers a private flu vaccine at our York pharmacy. Flu can be far more than a bad cold, and yearly vaccination is the best protection available.

How does the service work?

You can book an appointment or ask at the counter about availability. A trained member of our pharmacy team will ask a few screening questions to confirm the vaccine is right for you.

The vaccination itself takes only a few minutes and is given in our private consultation room. Most people are able to carry on with their day straight afterwards.

Flu strains change each year, so the vaccine is updated annually. A vaccination from a previous season will not protect you this year.

Am I eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine?

Free NHS flu vaccination is offered to particular groups, including people aged 65 and over, pregnant women, carers, and those with certain long-term health conditions. If you qualify, our team will tell you — you should not pay for a private vaccine if you are entitled to a free one.
